they sound like not very nice people, why would they force their child to pay well over the odds for insurance when it will not affect them in any way what so ever? other than being able to legally drive your car of course

they don't have to pay anything towards your insurance if they are on your policy as a named driver

it would be your own policy, all it means is that they would be insured to drive your car, they don't have to though. having them as a named driver on your policy would not affect their insurance premiums at all, and it will cost you a damn sight less to get insurance. put to them what if you take your bike out in the car, have an accident whilst on the bike, and due to injury you are unable to drive the car home... they would then need to get a separate insurance policy to get your car home

try adding your parents as named drivers on your policy, it will bring the price down dramatically... surely they would allow that?

i got a 1.1 pug 106... i am 27 years old, had 2 driving bans, i have no, no claims and im paying £816 a year for full comp. 3rd party fire and theft and plain old 3rd party was a lot more expensive
